..... I'm a winner?

well, just in case you didn't know, this week I won a prize in a blog giveaway that the bagladee  was running.  I was thrilled to win and even more thrilled when the tissue wrapped prize arrived!  Here it is, waiting for me to unwrap it (I impressed myself with the restraint it took for me to take a photo before I unwrapped it):

A Monthly Make - 2011

just sneaking in before the end of January ... my first monthly make!

One of my favourite blogs The Felt Fairy (I love this blog, partly because it turns out she lives on the site of the old mental asylum that my family has, er, close connections with) is running this - you can see some of the fab makes in the flickr group.

A quick change of plan .....

..... and a long, long sort out!

Tuesday was my last, lazy, extra day off work and I planned to spend it doing very, very little apart from some crafty bits and pieces.  Just before lunch one of my friends from work called to say he had some crafty supplies for me and could he drop them round?  

So he did, and I was rather overwhelmed by the sheer amount of crafty lovliness that he piled up in my hall!  I spent all afternoon sorting out bag after bag after bag .....

There are bags of embroidery thread, bags of cottons reels (from tiny tiny to mega large!), lace, trimmings, material, ribbons, patterens, wool, tapestry wool .... so much to find a home for .... how lucky can one girl be?

2011 .....

..... a year to relax a little more and make sure that I:

enjoying the finer things, like my beautiful Iced Gem Abigails:

 

and taking a little more time to smell the flowers:
